Nordstrom Triple Points Picks

Hi everyone! What a beautiful Wednesday it is, here in San Diego. Hope you're all getting some lovely spring weather as well, wherever you are.

So, today is the start of a few precious days (March 17-21) of Triple Points for all you Nordstrom Card holders out there! I personally, like to hoard bigger purchases for opportunities like this, so as to maximize the benefit of the Nordstrom Fashion Rewards points.

Here are a few of Kathryn and my "Triple Points Picks":

Let's start with an easy one - this is the Caslon Tiered Ruffle Tank ($28), and one of Kathryn's picks.  It comes in eight colors, and is such an easy piece to layer under cardigans and blazers.  Kathryn is thinking of picking up this ivory color, as well as pinot.  A terrific "underpinning," for any outfit.

This is one that I want to get - the Halogen Pleated Shoulder Cardigan ($39).  This basic piece comes in an amazing 21 different colors!  The colors I'd like to add to my closet are the silver coin (shown in photo), the pinot, fresh blue, and the lush jungle (deep green).  How darling would one of these cardigans look, belted over that tiered ruffle tank?

This is the Laundry by Shelli Segal Eyelet Dress ($195), which I saw in the March 2010 catalogue, and loved right off.  The eyelet is sweet and pretty, without being saccharine-sweet, thanks to how it's scaled.  That, along with the cut makes this dress sophisticated and feminine.  And I love those sleeves!  I have a feeling that if I put this dress on, I might get some little-girl-playing-dress-up-action. Sometimes, my own size (short, small-boned) can really hamper the way things fit on my frame (see the dressing room review of the Shoofly Trench here, to get my meaning).  But, otherwise, I love this dress.  Perfect for a wedding or even a Sunday brunch, don't you think?

Now, as long as I'm imagining myself in beautiful clothes, here's another that I absolutely love.  It's the Nanette Lepore Mermaid Tweed jacket (gulp - $498!).  How amazing is this piece?  Not only is the shape incredibly flattering (yes, I have tried this on - and have made 3 other friends, all with different body types try it on, and this is one of those pieces that looked good on ALL of us), with its cinched waist and gorgeous detailing, but it's got this awesome edginess - note the exposed zipper belt!  I tried this jacket on over a white tank with black slacks and then a pencil skirt, and it looked great with both.  What's particularly nice about this little number is that it will take you through spring and summer since it's short-sleeved, but when the weather cools, you can throw a long-sleeved turtleneck or tee on underneath it, and it's good to go for the fall and (southern-California) winter.  For that reason, I would say this is a worthwhile investment piece, if you have the money to spend.  For the rest of us, we can just fantasize, until it goes on sale.

How fun and summery are these shoes?!  The Via Spiga Tustin Espadrille ($175) come in 5 different colors (for those of you who don't love orange the way I love orange).  Espadrilles are great, because they give you height, without sacrificing stability and comfort - the wedge provides stability, and bit of platform mitigates the height of the heel.  This color and shape are great to wear with dresses, skirts, shorts, and even pants, as a way to freshen up your look.

Let us know what  your triple point picks are too!
