Tuesday - Resisting (with admittedly low rates of success) Anthropologie Sale Items!

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Hoping you're all well.  After last week, you'll all be glad to know that yes, Anthropologie pulled together a sale.  And wow - what a sale it is!

The Reed Shirtdress is now half price! As is the Vanilla Bean blouse!  And about a zillion other things, including shoes!  I currently have the Reed Shirtdress in green, as well as the Lean Lines Tunic in green, in my shopping cart.  Will I click the button?  Can I resist?  I'm grateful that the Tic Tac Toe blouse is sold out online in my size, because that would be hard to walk away from.  I did have the Ode to Spring Tank as well as the Skybound Button-up in my shopping cart, but managed to talk myself out of them.  For now.  I might need to put the Skybound Button-up back in my cart.  It'd look super cute with this little vest I have...

And it's back in.  Sigh.  Oh...and can you just imagine that Skybound Button-up layered beneath the Storybook Tank?  No, no.  I don't need either.  Out with you, Skybound Button-up, out!

Did I mention that the Shoofly Trench is also half off now?  And the Lawrence Blazer!  (The one that's okay for me to love, because it's named after my husband?)

I know, I know, this is getting silly, but it is 2:45 in the morning - it's the wee sma's, and really, I get a little punchy when I'm sleep deprived (and for those of you who are wondering, no, I didn't stay up just for the sale - was trying to make some progress on some work with a looming deadline).  But look - look what else I was...um...noticing before Anthropologie started posting it's sale items...

Anthropologie isn't the only store to be tempting us with sales on terribly nice things.  Nordstrom, for instance, has these adorable handbag hangers on sale ($15.90) - and really, how am I supposed to resist this?  It's got my initial on it in little pink rhinestones, for goodness' sake!

The Pink Studio Allyson Flat is ridiculously cute and so affordable now ($49.90 - yes, it's down to one size online, but remember, you can try calling your local store to see if a sales associate or your own Personal Stylist (Kelly!) can DTC it for you).

All right, I'm going to try and ignore the "Checkout" button on my shopping cart.  I am going to get back to work and finish up what I set myself to finish.  Then, and only then, am I allowed to...go out and get some fresh air...say, take a walk at a nearby outdoor shopping venue...that may or may not house an establishment of a particular persuasion....

  1. I've got a bunch of items in my shopping cart too - which I want but don't need at all.

Plus (at least for me) it is funny how a comparably little thing like shipping fees can deter me from ordering. If thse free shipping promo was still on, my order would have been placed.

  2. Hi! I found your great blog through Roxy's site...I just bought the Reed shirtdress in Kelly and I was wondering how you style it. Any suggestions would be great! =) TIA!

  3. I tried my best to stay away, but the NB Anthro is so close! Argh. Came away with the Suave Shell (which I hated on the hanger but I loved on - go figure!), the Stratus Cloud tank in grey, and *sigh* the Short & Sweet jacket that I told myself yesterday I didn't need.

  4. Ooooh! I haven't been to an Anthropologie yet - still working. Maybe this evening, I'll drag my family with me for dinner, somewhere near or in the mall. =) Does the Short & Sweet jacket fit well? I've been curious about it, but read some reviews that the ruffles are weird?

  5. Hope you made it to Anthro, Carol! There was little to no chance of me dragging the family out to a mall with an Anthro, so I had to go at lunch. I've got 2 boys and a husband who hates shopping - my boys are young now, but *maybe* one will like shopping with mommy? :P

I have to admit, I do love the S&S jacket - especially in the gold and green colorways. I originally ordered the brown online and it was meh on me. The fit was cute, but I didn't love it. Tried on the gold in store when I went to return the brown and swooned. I don't find the ruffles weird. Size up, though. I am usually a size 4 or S in Anthro tops and a 4 in jcrew jackets and I took an 8 in the S&S jacket. The only thing is that I'm about a 36B and when left open, it's a bit too big in the chest area. But it looks fine closed. I could pull off a 6, but it's a tad tight for my liking. The wool is lightweight enough to wear even in So Cal - especially in an office.

I showed my sister the jacket tonight and she loved it on me - and she's super picky, so that sealed the deal for me.

I think I have a couple of pics I took on my blackberry that I took in the dressing room, if you'd like to see them, email me at meshellquint@gmail.com

  6. @Michelle - Oh, I'd love to see them, Michelle! Is it still in your NB store? Maybe I can call CS for it - I don't think I've seen it here, in San Diego.

@Tiny - Thanks for the question - I'll definitely post something about styling the Reed Shirtdress by the end of the week. I'm totally wrecked with work this week, so will need to get to it once I've met my deadlines. But this weekend, I promise! =)
