Bustling Vappu OOTDs

Hi everyone! Hope you're all having a great Tuesday. Here are a couple of OOTDs for you...

You probably all know by now that I draw inspiration for outfits from all around the blogosphere. Well, today's outfit is inspired by non other than Carol! I'd LOVED her In a Moment-Blooming Lattice outfit from a couple weeks back. She mentioned that she thought the look could be recreated with the Vappu dress, so I thought I'd give it a try. Easy-breezy, right?

(Carol here: So cute! I love it more with the Vappu! And Kathryn is wearing those Seychelles that Kim's got too - also creates a "naked foot" effect on Kathryn, don't you think? I swear, I thought she was barefoot in the second photo, until I took a careful look at the other photos, to confirm she's wearing shoes in those. LOL, so funny!)

An All-Anthro OOTD:

Vappu Dress
Blooming Lattice Cardigan
Looping Lanes Belt
Seychelles Bette Flat

Carol here: So, sorry for the slightly uninspired outfit - I had to go work with teachers at a school, and the skirt/cardi/belt combo is always an easy school-appropriate outfit. Not much to say about this one, except that sometimes I love the hustle and bustle skirt (fun colors, interesting details) and sometimes I hate it (sort of overly busy and can make me look hippy at times...). I think I'm going to try and shrink mine a little...it might be that it's a wee bit too big, and that's the problem?

(Kathryn here: Since Carol doesn't seem to have much to say about her outfit, I'm just going to go ahead and say that she has nothing to apologize for because I think it's a GREAT outfit! And I don't think she looks hippy at all! Wouldn't you all agree with me? When she told me she thought her outfit was boring, I was expecting jeans and a t-shirt (not that there's anything wrong with that...) but then she uploaded the pictures and I thought to myself, "What is she talking about??" Anyway, I love how she styled the Hustle and Bustle skirt with the green cardi - the green is so very Carol!)

Cardi: Halogen 3/4 sleeve, Nordstrom (similar here and here)
Top: Gap button-sleeve tee (old - 2007? Similar here and here)
Skirt: Hustle and Bustle Skirt, Anthropologie (spring 2010, similar here and here)
Shoes: Cynthia Vincent for Target sandals (available in stores, similar here)
Belt: Theory, Nordstrom (Fall 2009, similar here and here)

  1. I'm LOL at @ Carol thinking Kathryn also was barefoot in the Seychelles shoes! You're just like my boyfriend!!
You look great Kathryn - I don't think you're feel look naked, or mine for that matter ;-)

  2. I love both of your outfits. Not boring at all Carol! The green cardi is so pretty with that skirt. Kathryn, the blue & yellow combo looks pretty too and I love those shoes. :-)

  3. i love the way you guys tag team on posts! :D
    and you both look lovely!

  4. You both look great! Btw, the Seychelles shoes that Kathryn is wearing, is that the off-white color?

  5. Kathryn-I loved that outfit Carol created with the Blooming Lattice Cardigan and you did a great job re-creating it! I've also been tempted to get those shoes for so long and now they are sold out in my size on endless :( I guess it wasn't meant to be.

  6. How cute are the both of you! :)

Kathryn, I love the vappu dress on you!!! Glad it worked out for you. BTW, what ever did you decide on the two-wheeler? :)

Carol, I just shake my head at you! ;) You look so cute! Definitely in the cute mommy club!

  7. Kathryn: Love your take on Carol's outfit. Super cute. You're making it harder for me to return my Looping Lanes Belt.

Carol: You're so chic in that Hustle and Bustle skirt. It's fun and it flatters your curves!

  8. LOL @ the not-really-naked feet! The shoes are cute, but they do blend in really well.

Carol, that outfit is not boring! I guess if you took away the skirt & heeled sandals, replaced them with jeans and Chucks, then minused the necklace, it could *possibly* be boring - but then, um, it'd be a totally different outfit. The outfit rocks - the colors are really vibrant. I esp. love the skirt, it's so pretty!

  9. As always, beautiful OsOTD! Love them - and I am always impressed with how you ladies look in your pictures. I always post pics with my head cut off because I make the weirdest faces when I'm taking self portraits.

  10. I can't wait to wear my Vappu dress to work. You've totally inspired me to make it office appropriate with a little cardi (to ward off the AC) and a belt! So cute!

  11. Oh Kathryn! You are such a doll in the Vappu/Blooming Lattice - I want to create it from head to (looking nakey) toe! Adorable!

Carol- you look SO CUTE in that outfit, I love the green with the floral - very Springy and pretty!

  12. Omg she does look bate in that second picture,
but I am also readintbhis on
iPhone. Great recreation of the in theoment dress
    cute carol' o love
    the yellow and green ladies!

  13. I love the combination of colors in the first outfit (my high school and college paired blue and gold so I am biased but they do look fantastic!). And I love the proportions of the second outfit.

    You are both so stylish!

  14. Thanks, everyone for your kind words. Sometimes, I feel like I do a lot of skirt-shirt-cardigan combos, and that's why I said I felt it was a little boring.

@Diana Drew - you totally made me laugh out loud with your comment! Thanks for your funny and sweet comments.

@Michelle - You're so sweet, and so silly! I'm sure your face is lovely! If you look at our first few posts, we weren't sure about our faces either...hahaha. We got over it. =D

  15. Thanks, everyone! =D

@Kim - Thanks so much for bringing attention to the Seychelles! Of course, I saw them on you and I LOVED them!

@Dee - the Seychelles I'm wearing are in the Vachetta color.

@Sara - Thank you! I loved the Vappu on you and I hope you get it too! And, we're practically size twins in clothes...wouldn't it be funny if we were shoe twins too? (I'm an 8.5-9)

@Cindi - I feel myself inching ever-closer to the Two-Wheeler. It's like it's talking at me through the computer screen, "Resistance is futile." Gah!!!

@Diana - I was seriously cracking up at your comment too!

@Cat - I can't believe how much I reach for my Looping Lanes. It's been a great investment!

@Jan - Thank you! I loved the Vappu on you as well! I hope you get it!

@Michelle - I've seen your face, and it IS lovely.

@Jesspgh - Thank you! My university is also very blue and gold, so I felt very spirited...in a girlie way. Haha!
