Chirp (OOTD)

Hello, and Happy Friday!

First off, I can't thank you all enough for your kind words of encouragement and support. It means the world to me, and I appreciate it so much. Really and truly. I know that we all have our own personal trials in our lives, and I've always been hesitant to say much about mine since I didn't want to be flippant about the situation nor did I want to bring anyone down. But I feel so blessed to have such amazing readers...thank you all so much for the virtual hugs and your big hearts. I am truly moved by all of your kindness.

I also owe a huge thanks to Carol for being so understanding of my unpredictable blogging habits. I consider myself very lucky to have Carol in my life, as she's always been there for me to pick me up whenever things don't look so cheery. I don't know how I got so lucky, but I'm thankful I did. I hope everyone has a Carol in their lives. ^_^

I did want to offer a teeny point of clarification, because of some of the messages I've received - I haven't quit the blog, nor am I planning to leave. I just don't know how often I'll be able to post, but I still plan on being around when I can.

So here's a day where I did manage to have some free time to blog my OOTD. Weird, I know. I found time to blog when I just wrote a post about not being able to blog.

Well, you know. "I just can't quit you." ^_-

Banana Republic Cardigan (similar from Old Navy here)
Balletomane Tank (from 2010, similar fluffy tank from Old Navy here)
Openwork Vines Skirt (also from 2010)
Nordstrom Tights
Target Merona "Myka" Wedges
Nordstrom BP Bow Necklace

So I swear I've seen this outfit on someone somewhere before, but I can't remember where or on who. It reminds me a lot of something Anthroholic Kim would wear, and I'm endlessly inspired by her, so that would make the most sense.

Thing is, this is the outfit I was wearing in my dream last night. Aliens had invaded planet Earth, and so I grabbed my lightsaber and took to the streets to defend our planet alongside my most beloved stuffed animals. The fluffy anteater and the polar bear were particularly effective in battle, and I'm happy to report that we successfully saved the planet from what would have been certain doom at the hands of the alien enemy.

You can thank me later.

So, yeah. I basically woke up and decided to wear what I was wearing in my dream. I'm pretty sure this happens to other people too, right? (Carol's telling me that it happened to Maria once...) Have any of you ever dreamed an outfit?

I wanted to close off this post with a couple of photos I took while walking this morning. I love this part of winter when the trees near my house bloom these tiny little white flowers. (I have no idea what these trees are called, so if you know, please feel free to enlighten me!) The trees don't usually look like this for long, as the wind usually blows the flowers right off the branches a couple of days after they bloom and then the sidewalks are littered with all these little smooshed flowers all over the place. But the trees look really pretty for at least a little while.

Thank you all again for everything, and as always, thank you for reading!

I haven't worn this exact combo, but I wore something really similar, so thanks for the shoutout, and now I'm going to copy you, because I love the Balletomane Tank with the skirt, and I need to wear that skirt a whole lot more!

  7. I was so happy to see a post from you pop up on my Google Reader today :) I love your hair and I LOVE this look! I would be shamelessly copying it tomorrow if that tank was in my 30 items, but of course, it's not, so I'll have to wait.

  10. Great outfit :) I have those flowering trees in my neighborhood too. Other than the smell, I like them too. I believe they are ornamental pear trees.
