Kind of a Hodge-Podge (OOTDs)

Hi everyone! Hope you're all having a great week. I, for one, can't believe it's only Wednesday. I feel like it should at least be Thursday by now. Do you ever have weeks like this? Where you do so much in the first couple of days that you're pretty much convinced that it's the weekend already?

Wednesday. It's only Wednesday, so far. And I'm telling you, things are starting to move at such a break-neck pace that I'm starting to feel a little overwhelmed. Which may explain why I broke my shopping ban last night.

Oh? Hm? What? You're hearing a strange buzzing? The print is too small to read? Maybe that's not actually text. I bet it's just a smear of grease from that time you were eating lunch at your desk, and forgot that your computer monitor wasn't actually a touch-screen? No? Well, haha, there's nothing to see here, people, move along, move along.

Anyway, when my husband saw my outfit this morning, he commented that I was looking "very academic." Then later, when I came home from work, he noted that I looked, "like a school teacher." Well, given that I once was a school teacher, I suppose that's okay. And I suppose the comment is even appropriate, given the name of this skirt:

Shirt: Ruffle collar striped blouse, J. Crew outlet (old - 2007? Similar here and here and here)
Sweater: Half sleeve crew neck sweater, Gap (also old; similar here and this and this would work too)
Skirt: Finishing School Skirt, Anthropologie (similar here and here and here)
Tights: Dotted tights (can't remember the exact name), Anthropologie (last winter; similar here and here)
Shoes: Rensselaer T-Straps, Anthro (similar here and here)
Necklace: Owl necklace, Oh Hello Friend

Greetings, readers!

Welp, I don't have
too much of an interesting OOTD, but I did happen to take a picture of what I was wearing, so I thought I'd include it...

Tuesday evening, I had the pleasure of attending the RINKS Speaking tour at Anaheim Ice featuring one of my favorite players, Teemu Selänne. So, uh...here's what I wore:

Dress: Vintage
Cardigan: TSE Cashmere (similar here)
Belt: Oh, Hello Friend
Scarf: Love Quotes in Raspberry (similar here)
Beautiful Finnish Man: Teemu Selänne
Sweater on Beautiful Finnish Man: Anaheim Ducks 3rd Jersey (check it out here)

Not visible in the photo:
Tights: Nordstrom BP
Boots: Target Kachiri in Taupe (buy here)

Teemu has always been one of my favorite players -- he's one of the sweetest, happiest people on the planet. He was kind enough to sign my photo for me, and we reminisced for a few minutes on what was undoubtedly one of the greatest nights of our lives:

...wow, I really never shut up about hockey, do I?

Well, I hope you'll all forgive me for my weakness for pretty men in ice skates. It's admittedly a little...different...from my weakness for pretty clothes. My heart is passionate about many things, I suppose. *wink*

Thanks for reading, and Happy Hump Day!

  4. Happy Hump Day to you both :) I can't believe it's only Wednesday myself! This has been the longest week ever. Oh well, I can't complain - I get ALL of next week off for Feb break! Woo hoo! 5. Okay, Carol... you fessed up. YEs, I saw the fine print too! Now tell us what you bought. I've been abstaining from gravitational pull of Anthropologie for a full week now just so I won't be tempted to open my wallet faster than you can say, well, ....Anthropologie. Hey, it's a big deal. I don't know how you've abstained this long.

  11. You look very cute and sweet Carol! But what is this business about breaking your shopping ban?! :) Well, specifically, what's this about telling us you broke it and *not letting us know what for*? I need to know which item was fabulous enough to break you! :) Your will power has been amazing so far. Personally I do think it's till admirable that you made it a whole month and a half without breaking, I know I wouldn't be able to do it!
