For the Love of Green Shirtdresses (Another Quickie Review & an OOTD))

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Hope your day is going well. My whole week so far has been full of tying up loose ends and chasing down details on lots of different projects. Lots of lists with scribbles and cross-outs and tiny notes scrawled next to the original task...yep. Necessary but slightly awful (for me) work. It's not unpleasant - just choppy.

Kind of like my writing right now.

I blame this week.

Anyhow, while I was cruising through Nordstrom, what caught my eye but a darling little green shirtdress by Nanette Lepore?

I'm wearing a size 2 in these photos, which actually fit me pretty comfortably, though I might want to try the 0, just to see what the difference in the fit is, through the body of the dress. Those of you who are long-time readers of this blog know that I have a weakness for shirt dresses, and some of you may be aware of my weakness for Nanette Lepore. This dress is a really super fun and easy piece to wear - I found it to be very flattering, and loved that the attached sash at the waist was long enough to give you options for styling - wrap it around for a jaunty bow in the front, as I did in the above photos, or just pull back and tie with a nice big bow the way they did in the model shots. The big slanted pockets give some shape to the skirt, but not in a bad way, and I liked the fun little mock-sweetheart detail across the chest, which gave the dress a slightly retro flavor. The dress opens and closes with functional buttons down the front, and is a cotton/spandex blend, so requires dry cleaning. The more I look at these pictures, the more I want this dress, despite the fact that I already own a green shirtdress, which coincidentally, was today's OOTD (snapped in the fitting room, for convenience's sake):

Dress: Reed Shirtdress, Anthropologie
Belt: Mossimo studded skinny belt, Target ($16.99 in stores, similar here and here)
Shoes: DIY embellished flats (see post here)

Today is the last day to enter the $100 Anthro gift card blog-iversary giveaway. Don't forget to do it, if you haven't yet. And once again, thanks for reading!

  6. Cute!!! That bow is sooo cute. I'm a sucker for shirt dresses too and probably have the most shirt dresses in my closet compared to other styles.

  8. Such a darling dress, the bow and ruffle detail are glorious! It's like a frilled up version of the Reed, which btw I absolutely love on you! Super pretty, Carol!

  9. Oh I love both dresses on you, green is a fantastic color for you! I only have one shirt dress, which I'm finding to be a bit lacking. This year I've made a list of only ten items that I NEED to have. A shirtdress is on that list!

  10. Green looks absolutely lovely on you. I adore both the dresses; the big pockets on the NL dress are a bonus! so bummed I missed out on the Reed. Like Minnesota Maven, I only own one shirt dress - the Two Wheeler. Time to invest in a few more.
