Pieces of Green (OOTD)

Happy weekend, everyone! Hope you're all doing well and your week went well. Mine was a little hectic (it was a very busy work week) but overall, good. This morning dawned bright and clear and beautiful, here in San Diego, and we have a forecast of 75 degrees today.

I know, right? Sometimes, I think I must have been really good in a past life, to be allowed to live in such a place now.

Though, to be honest, I remember waking up to days just as beautiful in all kinds of seasons in upstate New York, and thinking something pretty similar. So, maybe it's just being able to recognize and appreciate the loveliness of the world we live in.

We live in a really amazing place. How did we get so lucky?

These photos were taken yesterday, and it was a bit overcast, as you can tell by the sky.

When my husband and I were kids, and writing letters to each other (yes, we've known each other for a loooong time - and I'll tell you that story some other day), he always mentioned that I wrote about the weather too much. I seem to do that here too, but I can't help it. It's all around me, all the time, you know? Hard to miss.

How's the weather where you are?

Sweater: Cashmere Cardigan (from Costco of all places, a couple years ago. I wear it ALL the time. Similar here and here and here)
Dress: Alice+Olivia Abbie Dress (on sale in NM stores, also, on sale here)
Tights: Gray opaque tights (similar here and here and here
Shoes: Linea Paolo peep-toe slingback pumps (similar here and here and here)

Kate says hi.

Kathryn and I are working on the questions you submitted for us here, so look for those posts soon!

Thanks for reading!

  3. You look so cute here and also comfy, I've taken to wearing slightly flowier dresses with longer cardis and tights the last couple of weeks. My clothes aren't tight yet but it's only a matter of time so I'm trying to wear things that might see me through later on :)

The weather in the south of the UK was COLD today, clear blue skies, glorious sunshine but it struggled to get above 1 or 2 degrees...

Say Hi right back to Kate!

  5. I talk about the weather alot too, but I think that's because it has alot to do with my job. Or that the weather is always changing in Toronto. It has been raining cats and dogs all day long.

I love the pattern on this dress, it looks like a spider web. So cool. Looks great belted with dark tights and sling back pumps. I would wear this outfit any day of the week. I love your style.

And I love these little photos of you and Kate. She's too cute for words.

  6. I just put this on my radar! I love it. Now I just need to wait for shopbop to have a bit of a sale on sale and then I'll spring for it! So great for spring and super cute with a cardigan over it.

The only positive about the weather here in WI is that it will soon be over :(

  7. You look beautiful in this little green dress, and so girly. And I can`t belive that you are mom of two :)

Oh, and the weather that is the topic! Lately there was whole two weeks with the sun and clear blue sky, a bit cold but it was the sun! And today? On Saturday? Rain . And guess what are they forecasting for tomorrow? Yep, rain.
And the worst thing is that it always happens on weekends.
So I am waiting for monday :)

  9. I talk about the weather all the time. Mostly I complain about the frigid temps. I haven't totally learned to see the beauty in winter. I mean the first few months, maybe, but the snowstorm coming our way this week, not at all.

I love this outfit! If I was 30 lbs lighter (ok maybe 50) I would wear it in a heartbeat. You look amazing. Your legs look like they go on for days!

Kate is so cute. I love when you post a pic of her, she is so adorable!

I have very similar built as you and would love to buy the dress - it looks really, really good on you. (P.S. love the picture with the little one, SO cute!)
