Shoot, Pass, Kick 'em in the A$$ (OOTD)

Hi all! Hope you're all well!

Yep, it's Friday.

Just dropping by quickly to say I'm sorry I disappeared for the past couple of weeks. You all know how life gets, sometimes.

I guess those of you who have been following this blog for awhile know that I'm a passionate hockey fan. Well, I actually took this OOTD photo a couple weeks ago, after my beloved Anaheim Ducks were eliminated from the postseason at the hands of the Nashville Predators.

Nashville has a hockey team, you may ask? Why yes, they do. In fact, Carrie Underwood's husband, Mike Fisher, plays for them. And he murdered my Ducks.

So...boo to you, Mr. Underwood. Your wife's really pretty though.

(I'm actually not all that bitter, the Predators deserved to win. I just wish my team had been better.)

So, to explain, this is my "no more playoffs?" face.

Dress: Tucker for Target Button Front Dress
Belt: Oh, Hello Friend
Cardigan: Oh, Hello Friend
Necklace: Oh, Hello Friend
Boots: Steve Madden Intyce

I was so happy to pick this dress up during the re-release at Target a couple of months back. It's so comfy and versatile. And gee, can you sense a theme with the rest of my outfit? The lovely Danni from Oh, Hello Friend was selling her goods nearby so I grabbity-grab-grab-grabbed some more fun things...like this mustard-y cardigan with the ruffle placket. I'd been eying it the last few times she'd been by to visit, so this time I finally picked it up. I love it! It's sooo soft and comfy, and has full-length sleeves too! Highly recommended!

Since several of you have asked about a particular Oh, Hello Friend belt that I've worn a lot (and I mean, a lot), I picked up a few of them in various colors from Danni last time I saw her. I'm hoping to have them up for sale soon, in case any of you still happen to be interested!

Welp, now that I have no hockey team to cheer for (I just can't find it in me yet to root for anybody else), I'll leave off with this funny little video in honor of the fact that it's Friday ("Friday, gotta get down on Friday") and that there's still a lot of playoff hockey to be appreciated.

This little video made its way to me through a friend, and I can't stop laughing at it. It just confirms to me what I already knew - Canadians (and Canucks fans in general) are nuts. Also? The first singer dude is pretty cute.

Enjoy!

"Hashtag winning." Hahaha...

(Seriously. Tune in to the playoffs. The games have been fantastic! )

(And don't forget to mark your calendars for Sunday, June 12th for the In Pursuit of Pretty Things Shopping Event!)

xoxo!

  1. Sorry to hear about your Ducks, but at least your outfit is super cute! I've been longing for Danni's belts to go on sale - hope her other shop opens up soon. :)

  2. I am dying for one of those belts, so if you do get a chance to sell, please email me at crose424 at yahoo dot com! I've tried contacting her to no avail, so it'd be great if I could get one from you. Thanks!

  3. Aw, thanks Patti! Haha, when your team loses, cheer yourself by throwing on a pretty dress, right? I think it helped somewhat! And I know Danni's been meaning to open up a belt shop online for ages, but she's so busy with shows that she hasn't been able to. I'll try to photograph the handful of belts I have this weekend!

  4. Hi Ms. Mary! I only have the wide braided belt (sorry if there was any misunderstanding), so I'll be sure to take pictures of what I have to see if they're to your liking! Thank you for reading! =)

I love that you're a hockey fan! I'm an Edmonton Oilers fan and like to think of us Canadian hockey fanatics as wildly spirited, as opposed to crazy. Ahh, who am I kidding? We are nuts! Hockey is our religion. :) BTW, love your outfit! I'm usually bundled up when at a game.

  7. My hockey team the Flyers are out too :( You look cute and that little video is pretty funny and I might just become a Canucks fan for the rest of the playoffs!

  8. I love the mustard cardigan- brings out colours in the dress I didn`t even realise were there! I`m still in spring wardrobe transition- must remember that boots are an excellent accompaniment to a floral dress...

  11. Hi! Thanks so much for reading! And I love how nuts Canadians are about hockey! I was just watching Bud Greenspan's documentary on the Vancouver Olympics, and I have to agree with what was said during the hockey portion at the end -- hockey IS Canada's game. Not a bad religion to have, if you ask me. ;)

  12. I'm sorry about your team. :( I can definitely relate - it's not fun when your team your team is eliminated and ends the season with all sorts of question marks in goal. With three different goaltenders, no less! Sigh. I feel your pain.

  13. Thank you so much! And I know what you mean - the weather here seems to transition between summer and early spring. It went from being 90 degrees last week to high 60s and raining this week. Sheesh!
