It's been a while (almost a week!) since our last post. I admit, I'm a little ashamed that I've been such a bad blogger. *blush*
Handbag: Marc Jacobs Karlie in "Blush" (available through Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, 7/15-7/31, or via pre-select now, for Nordstrom Card holders. Similar available here, here, and here)
The Anniversary Sale is quite literally my favorite shopping event of the year. For those of you unfamiliar with it, it's Nordstrom's biggest sale of the year, and it's on items that are pre-season. Meaning, the stuff you're buying are not the mark-downs from the current or past season. Rather, it's the upcoming stuff for the pre-fall and fall seasons, which means that when the Anniversary Sale ends, the prices on AS items actually go back up. Yep, you read that right. The stuff on sale gets marked up at the end of the sale period - which happens to be July 15th - 31st.
This year, there are some changes to the way the Anniversary Sale is rolling out. Pre-select (shopping the sale early) is happening now, and is open to all Nordstrom Card holders. If you're not a Nordstrom Card holder, you won't be able to shop the pre-select period, as your card needs to be swiped to even start the transaction process on the registers. If you'd like to shop the pre-select period and you're not a Nordstrom Card holder (the popular items often sell-out quickly, so pre-select allows you to secure your items early), you're welcome to open a Nordstrom Card when you go in to shop. This year, pre-select shoppers get to take there purchases home early! That's right - you get to choose and make your purchases, then take them home the same day. No more waiting until the first day of the sale to get your goods! No more possibility of missing items or losing out on something that was there when you pre-selected but ran out before your SA could pull it for your order. No more waiting impatiently for weeks before posing with it in an OOTD photo. ^_-

I love the skirt. And Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale. :D
ReplyDeleteAck! So very elegant Carol. I absolutely adore that bag. I need a blush coloured bag myself. The MJ one you have is perfect.
ReplyDeleteThat MJ bag is gorgeous! I love that you can shop the presale and bring your purchases home right away. I couldn't bare the wait!
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh... that bag....stunning!
ReplyDeleteI was in love with this look when I saw your skirt in the first photo, then I saw that bag and GASPED! OMG great choice! I need to go to Nordstrom ASAP!
ReplyDeleteThank you for explaining the pre-select process! Pretty sure husband still has his mom's card in his wallet, we might need to stop by..
ReplyDeleteI love the skirt AND the bag! I almost forgot about the Anniversary Sale- I'm not a cardholder but I'll be checking it out on the 15th. Which Nordie's do you think is a better bet- Fashion Valley or UTC?
ReplyDeleteEEEEEK! SO PRETTY! I *love* a good, blushy pink bag and that one is divine. You wear it well, Carol! *sighs happily*
ReplyDeletethe entire outfit is ridiculously cute, and OMG, the bag. i didn't end up buying anything for myself (yet, gulp!) but the boyfriend and i picked up some shoes. of course, they weren't part of the sale, hehe.
ReplyDeleteThat bag is so beautiful! And I love that skirt -- it's definitely on my wish-list.
ReplyDeleteoooh your skirt is soooo pretty! And wow that bag is GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteNordstrom just opened this April at my local mall--previously it was 1.5 hours away in a ridiculously huge and hectic mall--so this is my first Anniversary Sale. Do you have any recommendations for how to shop it? The price range is a probably still a bit out of my budget, so I'm primarily looking for a quirky, quality leather handbag that will "go" (as much as anything can) with a backpack at college and not be obviously branded as high-end or expensive.
ReplyDeleteCarol you look beautiful! I forgot how perfectly the bag goes with your Tod's too! You are my most stylish customer and I love to see how you are growing your wardrobe by mixing and matching every day. You made great choices for the sale and I'm so happy that Marc found a good home:)
ReplyDeleteI think it's good that they've limited the pre-sale to cardholders. I'm not a cardholder and was allowed to purchase a couple years ago. I had to wait to pick it up, but I was happy to shop w/the cardholders in advance, behind the curtains. If I were a cardholder, I'd be irritated so I think this is a good change and fair for them. I adore your new handbag. Tres chic.
ReplyDeleteThat bag is just spectacular! Nice find:)

LOVE.YOUR.SKIRT! AND GORGEOUS BAG.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've seen a striped skirt this lovely, or look even lovlier on a lovely woman like yourself. Love, love, love!!!
ReplyDeleteJust FYI: if you don't want to open a credit card with Nordstrom's they now have an option to link their card with your debit card so it is not really a credit card but you get the same privileges. I don't understand the whole thing but would be inclined to do that more than open a credit card! Might be useful information during pre-sale!
