Phew! That's right, everyone. We've nearly made it through the week. Yay us!

Secondly, it's the first day of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! At midnight (Pacific), the website (which has been closed for the the better part of the evening, like many of the stores, in preparation for the first day of the sale) will open with Anniversary Sale items. Stores across the United States open at varying times - as early as 7 AM in Seattle, 8 AM here in San Diego, and some others at 9 AM. Check the website for your local store's opening time. Also, for you Twitter users, Nordstrom is using the hashtag #NSale, so you can track updates and announcements that way. It's a total madhouse at Nordstrom on the first day of the sale, I won't kid you. But for those of you who love the thrill of the hunt, or just have fantasies of living out a Becky Bloomwood moment, well...this might be where it could happen. Some stores, notably the Seattle store, have lines form outside before opening.
Thirdly, it's the opening day of the San Diego location for the Drybar! As someone who is blow dryer-challenged, I am beyond excited to be able to say I live within 15 minutes of one of a Drybar location. In fact, I have an appointment early tomorrow morning - 8 AM - and I'll be reporting back to you here, to tell you how it went. And just to back up a teeny bit, for those of you unfamiliar with Drybar, it's best described as a hair salon that does nothing but washes and blow-outs. No cuts, no color - just blowouts. I admit that I'm not totally sure that a fabulous blow-out won't just be wasted on my not-even-shoulder-length hair, but I'm still looking forward to seeing the Drybar staff work their magic and hopefully to having a really super good hair day.
And of course, last but not least, the final chapter of the Harry Potter film franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, is being released. I'm sooooo sad that I don't have any way to go see it this weekend. We originally hoped to see it this weekend, while visiting OC (where there are grandparents who are willing to watch the kiddos for a couple hours whilst we slip out for a movie), but that trip has been cancelled because 1) apparently it's "Carmageddon" and while I'm not sure it'll impact the portion of the 405 that passes through Orange County, we've decided that even the possibility of the prospect of more than 1.5 hours in a car with two small-ish children is enough to deter us and 2) I received a work assignment with a really tight turnaround time, so will have to put in some hours over the weekend to complete it. We're definitely hoping to catch it sometime...just not sure when.
Will you be checking out any or all of the three things I mentioned above?
