The Budget Wishlist

Greetings and Happy Friday <3

As more and more fall arrivals start to make their way to various stores and lookbooks, I can't help but to accumulate a little bit of a "To Buy" list for myself. And since I just blew a ridiculous amount of cashola on a pair of shooz, I'm trying to keep things to a reasonable level.

The fun part about this list is, nothing on it so far is over $40.

Just call me "The Cheapie." Or I dunno, "The Cheapness?" Or "El Cheap-o-rino" if you're not into the whole brevity thing. Though I suppose if you're going for the correct gender, it'd be "La Cheap-o-rina?"

How do I always get so off-point???

Anyway...

I spied this outfit in the latest Nordstrom BP Back-to-School mailer. While I'm far (far, FAR) removed from my days as a student, I still have a major thing for the Brass Plum department. I confess, this look kind of makes me feel like I should have an address somewhere in Williamsburg, but I really like the relaxed, chic feel of this blouse. I can imagine styling it with a variety of items - a floral print skirt, a pair of dark wash skinnies or a nice pair of medium wash flares. I found the blouse in-store in both the Blush and in the Ivory, and I love the Ivory - it's a soft, peachy-blush hue while the Blush is more of a dusty rose. I also saw it in a mustard-y gold. All of them are super pretty.

Lush Tie Front Chiffon Top

I love little printed blouses like this. They're great for dressing up with a skirt or down with a pair of skinny jeans and a boyfriend cardigan. It also comes in navy, and I think it's a nice, inexpensive way to play with the tie-neck blouse trend without spending a million dollars.

LinkRibbed Panel Biker Jacket

This piece was something I spied on Roxy of Effortless Anthropologie last year (and also Kim of Anthroholic...and also Pamela of Ginger Girl), and I could never get it out of my mind. Unfortunately, I never ended up locating one. It would seem that our friends at Forever 21 have brought it back for this season, and I find I'm singing in my head, "Grabbing hands, grab holding hands..." ^_-

I must have this jacket.

H&M Lace Dress

Okay so I still haven't decided which color I like better. I think I'm leaning towards the Black, but I may need to put out an APB to help me locate a size Small.

(Seriously - if anyone out happens to see one of these pretty babies in Black in a size Small and they're willing to grab it for me, please let me know! I'd really appreciate it!)
Mossimo Supply Co. Karie Flat Zip Boots

Last year I'd purchased Target's Kachiri Boots in Taupe and I loved how comfortable they were. They're so comfortable I could practically sleep in them. By the time I decided that I wanted the Kaden Boots in the tan, I couldn't locate them in my size. I'm kind of thinking these "Karie"Boots are this year's version of the Kaden Boots, and one can never have enough comfortable shoes, right? Especially for such a happy price!

So I guess this does it for now, but hey - the season's still young, and I have a feeling there's more fun little treasures yet to be found. And wishlisted. *wink*

As always, thank you all so much for hanging in there with me. And thanks so much for reading!

  1. That F21 jacket is such a great deal!  In fact, you've reminded me that I left mine somewhere and I MUST find it before the cold weather comes!  I'm totally with you on the Mossimo boots.  All winter I had to endure everyone saying how great their Kaden boots were, but I missed the boat and never found a pair for myself.  I must got try and find these Karie boots!    Love your budget list Kathyrn!

Everytime I spied someone wearing the Kadens I would get insanely jealous...which may seem a bit excessive seeing as how I already have the Fryes and Steve Madden Intyce. Both, in cognac. Still. I wantIwantIwant. I'm hoping the Karies will be just as cute and comfy.

Thanks for the tip on the Lush blouse: I bought two colors (and would have bought charcoal if it had been there!). I got pink and the neutral, which is a faint blush color.  I am curious why they are "Dry Clean Only" when they are polyester....puzzling.  And then of course, even at that price point, I don't want to ruin a garment.  ... Anyway, they are lovely blouses!  I am a 10- 12 and got a L. I didn't find the sizing to be small even though it is a Juniors Department.  They are nice and long for tucking or for wearing out!

  11. I <3 the lush tie chiffon shirt, it seems like it'd be a good shirt to go with most anything!  Also I bought a pair of Kaden Boots last year and totally loved them and wore them all the time, and was horrible to them and they're still around and ready for more torture this fall/winter so I say its a good buy for the money.
