Double Take (Action) - OOTDs

Hi everyone! Yay, it's Friday! And because it's Friday, Kathryn and I have a bit of fun for you.

Twinsy OOTDs. Yep. I decided that I'd had it with Anthro not putting the Take Action Dress on sale, and called CS to see if the blue version was still in existence anywhere in my size. I admit I didn't have much hope, as I hadn't seen them in stores for what feels like a couple months now. Lo and behold it was! In a San Diego store, no less! I don't know about you, but when things like that happen, I take 'em as a sign that the universe is giving me permission to just buy the dress, dammit! So, there you have it. In the game of "buy it before it sells out"-Chicken I was playing with Anthro with this dress, I completely lost. But you tell me, when a dress is this pretty, don't I score an automatic win?

Dress: Take Action Dress, Anthropologie (blue color sold out online, but still available in some stores)

Hi all!

*waves*

So as you may or may not recall, this dress had me at hello. And it made me want to f*cking cuss. And I don't have Carol's patience, so I didn't bother waiting for a sale.

...I waited for my birthday to roll around and gave my husband big puppydog eyes.

I've actually worn this dress a couple of times already, but I never got around to blogging it until now. (unless I did, and I forgot? I can't remember now...) And I always liked it with this necklace, so it was an easy-peasy styling.

And I'm especially excited that the reusable shopping bag that I helped to design is in production, and will be offered for sale in the fall! (the name of the institution is blurred out for privacy's sake (even though it's probably easy enough to figure out))

Dress: Take Action Dress, Anthropologie
Shoes: Seychelles Bette Flats (similar here and here)
Necklace: Bedecked Brooch Necklace, Anthropologie (2010; similar here, here, and here)
Earrings: Sparkling Sage

...man, I've got this nice lens and this nice camera...and now I've got a remote to boot. I just really need to figure out how to take prettier pics. I know this. I will work on this, I promise.

Thanks so much for reading, and hope you all have a great weekend!

  1. Love the twinsy OOTD!  I think pulling the trigger on this dress FP is warranted.  I would have picked it up had it not been for the fact I have Twinkle Twinkle.  LOVE IT!  By the time it ever makes a sale, I really believe it will be totally out of stock.  It's a seasonless dress and a good investment.  Winning!

  2. Oh, you two look adorable in the Take Action dress (undoubtedly one of my fave dresses). With a dress that pretty, there's no need for ott accessories - love how you both styled it very simply.Maybe we'll get to see another "traveling Mullanys' post some time soon? ;-)

  4. I just recently got the Take Action Dress because I was fed up too! There were several in the Woodfield store in IL and I was shocked to see it because I thought they were all gone. This dress is perfect and looks perfect on you two!

  6. I graduated from the institution you (Kathryn) mentioned in 2010, and I've been reading this blog for a year.  I completely recognize the...symbols...on the bag.  I wonder if I have ever ran into you! I suspect you work in the bookstore from some of the past posts.

  7. You both look gorgeous in this dress.  Today's post has helped me rationalize my decision to buy this dress FP too a little while ago.  (Like I need a reason to justify an Anthro purchase.. )  Enjoy it!

  8. I so love this dress. I am so glad I got it before it was gone...actually I am so glad I asked my boyfriend to get it for me for my birthday before it was gone...lol! This post reminds me that I should actually pull it out and wear it. I love how you styled it with those espadrilles, Carol.
