Kiitos (Thank You)

Have you had a kindness shown?
Pass it on;
'Twas not given for thee alone,
Pass it on;
Let it travel down the years,
Let it wipe another's tears,
'Til in Heaven the deed appears-
Pass it on.

-Henry Burton, Pass It On

Many of you have offered such kind words to me. I wanted to give my thanks to you.

Know that your kindness is greatly appreciated and that it means the world to me.

holding my parents' engagement photo.

(I had scanned and printed the photos, mounted them to cardstock and used them for the centerpieces at my parents' 50th anniversary party)

You all make me smile.

wearing those fancy shooz.

Thank you so, so much.

Remember to tell the people in your life that you love them.

And have a happy weekend.

* "kiitos" is "thank you" in Finnish

  1. I'm sending a virtual hug to you and just wanted to say you're in my thoughts as you go through this difficult time.  I don't usually comment (but I did once before with you about my terror with Serenity..)but I have followed your blog for awhile and have read about your mom's diagnosis of dementia, I work in the field so know how devastating the whole thing is...

    on a lighter note, I wanted to add I LOVE that you have canadian and finnish content, as I am a Finnish-Canadian-Anthro wearing-Layton supporting blog reader, so you always manage to make me smile with your comments that are relevant to me and I hope in your sadness the memory of smiling times will help you through...

  2. So sorry; this is a beautiful post.  Best wishes to you!  Terri

  3. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Nearly 12 years ago my Mom passed from complications related to dementia. I am an only child and was the caretaker. It's always important that we tell those we love and treasure how much they mean to us. I feel for your struggle and know that your Mom knows you love her deeply.

  4. I'm thinking of you and your family. And on a lighter note, I just wore the Beda a couple days ago. Love that dress and it looks lovely on you.

  5. I apologize for not responding sooner. Thank you so much for your kind thoughts. Your comment made me smile for days and continues to do so. And it feels good to smile when sometimes all I want to do is cry.

    Thank you so, so much. <3

  6. Thank you Terri!

  7. Thank you, Monica. =) It may sound kind of silly but it really does help to lighten my spirits whenever I put on something pretty to wear. It's the little things that help get us through, you know?

    Thanks so much again for your kindness. <3

  8. Oh heart goes out to you. I know that your mom appreciated everything that you did for her. Dementia may take away a lot, but ( this may sound) I truly believe that love conquers all. Thank you for sharing your comment. I'm sending virtual hugs your way. <3
