Under Cover (OOTD)

Yesterday was possibly the hottest day of the year, so far, in San Diego. Quite literally, when I stepped out to take these photos, I was hit by a hot blast of air, as though I were stepping into an oven. Layer over that, some pretty uncharacteristic humidity - preceded by a thunderstorm in the morning - and you've got San Diego trying to pretend it's upstate New York in summer or something.

Nothing against upstate New York weather, of course. Just, it's not normal for here.

Anyway, I was looking for a way to stay comfortable without having to resort to the A/C, so I went with the Cloud Cover Poncho (last blogged here) - flipped upside down.

Top: Cloud Cover Poncho, Anthropologie (similar here and here)
Tank: Banana Republic (similar here and here)
Shorts: Mossimo Pleated Shorts, Target (similar here, here, and here)
Shoes: Cole Haan Sandals (similar herehere, and here)

Hope you're staying cool and comfortable today!

  2. Seriously! As a fellow San Diegan, I enjoyed listening to the rain in the morning, putting on cropped pants and a cardigan in anticipation of some cooler air. Then I walked outside, and I said to my husband, "When did we move to Florida?" Needless to say, I went back inside and changed.

And on another note, the Cloud Cover poncho looks adorable flipped upside down like that. So cute!

  3. San Diego is my fave place to visit ever (not that I am well traveled) so I am sure that icky weather is temporary, and you look lovely in the meantime.
