Like Candy (OOTD)

Thanks, everyone, for your kind words and encouragement regarding my resolutions (you all accurately honed in on the one that'll be hardest for me - the shopping one...). This top is my official January purchase - the Kate Spade Bow Ellis Top - which I found on the sale rack at Nordstrom, on second cut.

I know, right? What are the chances??? I don't know about the rest of you, but I find Kate Spade clothes to be...well, reamingly expensive. Especially at full price. Particularly since I'd love to buy nearly everything. So, on the rare occasions a Kate Spade item makes it into my wardrobe, it's either because I developed a wholly unhealthy obsession with said item, or because I completely, unexpectedly, and serendipitously came across that item on sale, and maybe had a coupon code to boot. Something like that. Or, like this. At any rate, this one is my January keeper, and I love her. She's like candy, isn't she?

Oh, wow, did I just anthropomorphize a sweater? Mmhm. Yes. Yes, I did.

Shirt: Burberry Button-Up (similar here, here, and here)
Shoes: Madewell Leopard Calf-hair Skimmer (similar here, here, and here)

And while I was snapping my OOTDs, Kate asked me to pause and hold on just a minute...

 Kate's Outfit:
Sweater: Target Cherokee Cardigan (similar here and here)
Skirt: Mini Boden Gypsy Skirt (similar here and here)

Apparently, she had some posin' to do:

(It would seem I do that with my feet a lot. Notice her intent focus and concentration...)

Hope you're all having a great Monday!

  1. I love your January purchase (that shade of pink is lovely on you) but I especially love that last shot of your cutie-pie Kate posing. Work it girl!(:

  4. I almost bought those Madewell skimmers, but dawdled and then they were gone. They are perfect with that outfit.
Do you find them to be tts? I'm eyeing the new crop of patent leather ones that just appeared on their site.

It's so fun to see you and your daughter doing things together, like 'peas in a pod'. It reminds me of the days when my daughter was young. We still do things together, but it's not quite the same.

  5. Good call on the January purchase. I agree, FP KS is sooo freaking EXPENSIVE! While I do think the quality is good, I still think it's overpriced. First cut becomes moderately expensive but second cut is totally do-able! Even better with a coupon!

The last shot of you and Kate together needs to be blown up and framed. She's too adorable.

  6. A good find that is- I guess the point is to wait out the month until you find exactly that awesome piece at the right price. I am neither good at waiting nor assessing which is the right thing to splurge on!

Oh kiddos- they are always watching and learning, aren't they!

  7. Love your style! Also, I can't wait until I have my own little girl so I can dress her up like yours, too:)
