Fashion Bucket List: YSL Tribute Sandals

Hi there. Kathryn, here. *waves*

I hope you're all having a nice Memorial Day weekend!

I had to head into the office for a bit over the weekend to get some work done, but afterwards I swung by my little home-away-from-home, South Coast Plaza.

Upon my visit, I stumbled upon what I believe will be my next bucket list item.

Yves Saint Laurent Tribute Platform Sandal (shown in nude)

*dreamy sigh*

It's a little bit funny, this feeling inside. I'm not one of those who can easily hide. I don't have much money, but...boy, if I did. I'd buy a big house where we both could live.

In short, omg. Oh em gee. Ever since I bought my beautiful Louboutins, I've started looking at shoes in a whole new way. In other words, I think I'm addicted to Nice Shoes.

Who knew Christian Louboutin was a gateway shoe?

Anyway, I'd been looking at the Tribute Sandals online for awhile, and I made it a point to swing by the YSL Boutique to take a look-sie in person. Man, everyone...and I mean everyone, was speaking Mandarin. I'm pretty sure I overheard one of the sales associates speaking Mandarin to one of his clients. I don't know what was going on, but I do know that I laid my eyes on these pretty, pebbled leather beauties and gasped.

And when a shoe makes you gasp, you know it's serious business.

The heel is (gulp) 5.5" inches high. Yeah. But believe it or not, they're comfortable. I could actually walk in them pretty comfortably. I think the 1.5" platform helps with the comfort level. And the leather - the leather! - is nude, leaning towards the pale pink tones. And holy crap, do I love pink. It's a very neutral-y type of pale pink that I think will go with a lot of things in my closet. And these seem to be pretty iconic, as far as strappy platform sandals are concerned. So I think they'll be a good investment, especially in terms of cost-per-wear.

I guess I tend to be really cheap about the way I spend a lot of money on something.

I'm in love. I noticed the boutique had quite a selection of Tribute Sandals on sale, so I'm hoping I can watch these (like the stalker I am!) and see if (IF) they go on sale.

Or maybe I'll just go rob a bank. Stay tuned. *wink*

Thank you all for reading!

xoxo

  2. I eyed these shoes for a long time before I finally bit the bullet and bought them. They are incredible -- I truly believe they're worth every penny I spent. Before I bought them, I kept watching out for these to go on sale, but I was told by a Nordstrom SA that a sale on these shoes would be unlikely.

And I agree: I used to buy somewhat cheap shoes (the most expensive I owned were around $130), but after I bought a pair of Gucci booties, I converted. There's something about expensive shoes, such as the YSL Tribute sandals, that just feel spectacular.

Yes, I think I'm trying to enable you to rob a bank to buy the YSL Tribute sandals.

  4. I don't know, girl, I am scared to make the conversion to REALLY nice shoes. I think my feet would thank me (or maybe not in 5" stilettos) but oh my poor wallet, haha!

  5. I have a pair of these in brown that I bought on sale the day after Christmas at Saks for 50% off. There are tons of designer sales right now, maybe you'll find a pair.
