It's pretty difficult to continue doing something when you know* the people who are watching neither 1) understand why you're doing it and 2) probably think you're completely off your rocker. After all, what normal grown woman takes 8-20 photos of herself on any given day, like this?
You don't need to answer that question.
Anyway, it made me think of a TED talk I watched a year or so ago, by Derek Sivers. In it, he references the person he calls, "a lone crazy" - and while I'm well aware that I am not a lone crazy (there are probably millions of personal style blogs out there - and Mr. Sivers was really referring to that amazing, creative, innovative person who swims against the current with his/her amazing, creative, innovative ideas in tow. It's a great talk, I recommend it), I certainly am to my neighbors.**
Dress: Tombolo Dress, Twenty8Twelve via Anthropologie (similar here, here, and budget busting but gorgeous designer version here)
Sweater: Cardigan (from Korea - I cut out the labels, so have no idea who the maker is; similar here, here, and here)
Shoes: Givenchy Platform Clog Sandals (similar here, here, and what I'd buy if I won the lottery, here)
Necklace: Tammy Spencer Designs
This necklace made by local designer Tammy Spencer was the DH's birthday gift to me. I just love the beautiful details and the colors are so perfect, considering my current fixation with minty, sea-foamy greens. You can see more of her work at her Etsy store, 3tomatoes and if you're in San Diego, you can see them in person at Cafe Chloe.
*Okay, I don't actually know this. But
**I should probably...you know, get to know them. Tell them about what I'm doing. Let them get to know me. Then they can come to the informed realization how they were completely right about me all along.... ^_-
