A Little Help From My Friends (Reader Poll)

My husband is a lovely, thoughtful, brilliant human being. He's super smart and really one of the nicest people I know. He's so smart, that he's figured out that I should really be left to choose my own gifts.

There are so many things on my wishlist, but I've been wanting a new handbag for a while. So, I have my eye on the Rebecca Minkoff 'Cupid' Satchel. Only, I need some help. I can't decide which color I like better:

Not only is the bag lovely in real life, it's a great size (not overly big but with plenty of room), has tons of pockets to help me stay organized, and has the perfect amount of detail to make it interesting without making it...too interesting (if you get my meaning).

Oh, and if that wasn't enough, it comes in practically every color in the rainbow. You can check out the Cupid in burgundy (I kinda love this too!), royal blue, navy, red-orange or teal green, smoke, or sand. There are also about a dozen other colors (including black, cognac, light grays, lavender, etc) should you be interested at some of these links.

But back to my original question - which should I go with? Mint or grape? Grape or mint? I'm really struggling with this one, so would love some feedback. I tried to find a poll...I think this one below will work.

Thanks! Hope you're all having a great day!

  1. I've owned RM bags since 2007 and one of my favorite ones is purple haze. It's gorgeous and gets better with age. My lighter color bags have the problem of color transfer...

  2. I personally love the orange, but since you are deciding between mint and grape, I'd go with grape :-). I like the gold tone hardware and the bag color is more practical - my light colored bags always end up with something on them, including but not limited to denim blue areas from my dark wash jeans. What a lively gift!

  3. I really love the mint (and I recently got a Kate Spade bag in kind of a Tiffany blue shade that I love), but my practical side says the grape will go with more - but it's still more fun than, say, black or brown. I don't wear the blue purse as much as I'd like because it just doesn't seem to match with things. I also think the darker color will be less likely to show wear and tear or dirt. Both are very pretty, though!!

  4. While I love mint, it is definitely more trendy, and less likely to integrate, into outfits year round. The grape is gorgeous, timeless, and definitely likely to coordinate well with more outfits throughout the year.

    Either way, enjoy!

  5. I LOVE the mint (although I hadn't thought about stains/color transfer issues others have mentioned)!

  6. The grape! Mint is currently on-trend, but I question just how long it will stay trendy. Plus, I like how the grape is darker. Makes it more practical.

  7. Looks like I went against the grain opting for mint! Mums ordered me a mint bag for Christmas (nothing fancy, just H&M). This one appears to photograph nicely and will be just right for when Spring rears its head :-) Good luck choosing.

  8. Definitely the grape. Like people say, mint is very today. And the darker colour can hide any dirt/stains. :)

  9. I couldn't decide at first but then I figured that wasn't much help to you so I went with grape :) I feel like it's more of a year round colour. Good luck, can't wait to see which colour you choose!

  10. Mint seems more fun for day time and grape for night. I'd be worried about keeping the mint clean but I think I like it better. Tough decision.

  11. Such a smart husband...

I love the grape. But I'm partial to purple in general... Happy gifting!

  13. I got the grape for Christmas...I love it! I receive compliments everywhere I go. Surprisingly goes with everything! Great size and a comfy wear. It's a bit heavy if you carry a lot of junk around. Totally obsessed with my new girl.
